Goodbye forest <- no more!

The thing is that my father decided to install Vista, so TEF doesn't work on this.
I might hang around the forum, but I won't be able to play anymore.



I really love the forest.
So peaceful, when my actual life is full of stress and depress.
So full of love, when in real life everyone ends up hating me.
So full of joy, when actually I feel no happiness at all.
For a long time it was a place to hide from the reality, which I have to face daily anyway.



Tacita never got any actual friends in the forest.
Everyday it was just some other deer, but it was fun anyway.
I think it would've been even more fun, if she knew someone.



I will miss all the fun, all the other deers.



I will miss all the cute, but rather meaningless things that happened.
I will miss this all that made me smile and saved my day.

Don't worry, I'm not going to do anything to myself.

Don't panic! Even on that nasty operating system, TEF works!

Try doing what the fourth question suggests in this thread. If that doesn't help, try running it in compatibility mode. (You can do a gooooogle search for running things in compatibility mode in Vista)

Other TEF players are using Vista, so if they can run the game, then so can you. You just need to do a few things to get it working properly.

I've tried that and the compatibility mode, but it just isn't working. What ever I do it says "ForestViewer.exe has stopped working".

er, I'M running vista... it ran fine even when i didnt do the compatability mode thing, but when i do run it that way i can take schreenshots.

but you know how whenever you start a program, it sort of freezes the computer and asks you if you want to allow it? that always makes TEF stop working. soo just dont run any new programs except firefox (which doesnt ask me every time)

I have that same problem on Vista. :/
But there might be a chance that it'll still work, don't worry. Here's what I do to fix it:
Just go to The Endless Forest>Settings. Once you get to the settings menu, just click on 'Display', and then 'Quit'. TEF should be able to run fine for a while after that. You may have to keep doing this every time TEF crashes, unfortunately, but it's worth it.

I've found another solution that may fix the problem! *does happy dance*

It might only work for windowed mode, though.

But instead of that other suggestion I posted, you could also try right-clicking The Endless Forest and selecting 'Properties'. Once the Properties menu opens, next to where it says 'Run', select 'Maximized' from the drop-down menu.
After that, the forest should run perfectly fine (unlike the first suggestion I posted, this one should work permanently).
